How writing can change your life.

I’m shocked at the number of people nowadays who underestimate the value and power of writing. In today’s world, we’re so dictated to by social media, that our once innate instinct to write has all but disappeared.  Take greeting cards for example.  I still love a great card – just ask my daughter and my husband.  If I don’t get a thoughtfully written card from these two loves of my life on special occasions, they know I’ll be disappointed.

 

I’ve always found enjoyment in writing just for the sake of it – not always to produce a 90,000-word novel.  It can be a simple note in my journal about how the day has gone, what is coming up in my life or I have achieved that is important to me. I’ve kept a journal for as long as I can remember. I find it relaxing and I keep a notebook close by just in case I find the urge to start “jotting”.

 

Even if you don’t enjoy writing, I would recommend you give it a go, because it does have a lot of benefits based on excellent research and science. Here are a few –
